About Us

Plants by Adam is a boutique grower of quality vegetable seedlings, bedding annuals and other potted plants for sale at community markets within the Melbourne area.

Here at Plants by Adam, we produce all of our own stock —you won’t catch us engaging with large wholesalers!

We stock a wide range of rarer and unusual species in addition to popular favourites. We are able to supply a unique range of plants at reasonable prices. All of our stock is grown to the highest standards with the best quality materials. When you visit our beautifully-arranged undercover market stall, you will see fresh and healthy products displayed with colour signage describing each species' cultural requirements. Every plant comes with a label. You simply won't be disappointed with our compelling selection of plants.

Whilst we’re currently limited to selling at markets, we plan to expand into online sales very soon.

If you think that we might be able to supply you with something, please don’t hesitate to contact us as we will contract grow and may be able to fulfil special orders. We sell plants in a range of sizes up to 150mm pots as well as hanging baskets.

Founders

Plants by Adam is a husband-and-wife team of Adam Dimech and Kerya Hang. Plants by Adam was established in early 2014 to provide an outlet for the couple to sell vegetable seedlings, bedding annuals and other plants to the public.

Dr. Adam Dimech

BAppSciHort (Hons), PhD Melb

Adam has been working with plants for many years. His childhood enthusiasm for gardening led him to undertake a Horticultural Science degree at the University of Melbourne’s Burnley campus before completing a PhD.

Adam currently works at a government research institution but has previously worked at a number of Melbourne’s larger retail nurseries and has more than a decade’s experience working with plants.

Adam specialises in plant production and applies his years of experience and technical expertise to producing potted plants of a consistent quality.

Kerya Hang

BSci PGDip (Botany) La Trobe; MPA Deakin

Kerya has a passion for edible gardening, in particular growing her own vegetables and herbs. Kerya’s considerable experience with south-east Asian herbs and their culinary uses means that she’s accumulated a considerable collection of exotic species.

Aside from a science degree, Kerya has just completed a Masters of Professional Accounting from Deakin University. Kerya has combined her skills in science and accounting to establish the Plants by Adam venture.
